Martin Smith – Solicitor to the Panel
Martin Smith is the Solicitor to the Daniel Morgan Independent Panel.
A partner in the Public & Regulatory Law Group at Fieldfisher, Martin specialises in advising those conducting independent reviews and inquiries.
He previously advised Lord Hutton on his inquiry into the death of Dr David Kelly, the Morris Inquiry on its independent review of professional standards in the Metropolitan Police, and Sir William Gage on his public inquiry in to the death of Baha Mousa. He acted as Solicitor to the Inquests into the deaths of Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed and the Inquests into the London Bombings of 7 July 2005. He is also currently instructed as Solicitor to the Alexander Litvinenko Inquest.
