Martin Smith – Solicitor to the Panel
Martin Smith was the Solicitor to the Daniel Morgan Independent Panel.
A partner in the Public & Regulatory Law Group at Fieldfisher, Martin specialises in advising those conducting independent reviews and inquiries.
He previously advised Lord Hutton on his inquiry into the death of Dr David Kelly, the Morris Inquiry on its independent review of professional standards in the Metropolitan Police, and Sir William Gage on his public inquiry in to the death of Baha Mousa. He acted as Solicitor to the Inquests into the deaths of Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed, the Inquests into the London Bombings of 7 July 2005 and the Alexander Litvinenko Inquest/Inquiry.
